Research indicates this is from a limited edition set of silver medals minted by the Franklin Mint over 40 years ago, called the Societe de la Sculpture de Medailles Collection which had 15 medals in the set. It was a series depicting an original art work on the obverse and the artist's self-portrait on the reverse. They were struck on a high relief on a massive planchet of solid sterling silver. This a beautiful piece of work to add to add to your collection whether you are a fan of Helleberg, trying to collect the whole series, or simply appreciate the fine craftsmanship of this silver medal.
