Franklin Mint The Great Airplanes Sterling Silver Ingot Collection in the Original Packaging. This Franklin Mint collection is complete and showcases 50 x. 925 Sterling Silver miniature ingots. The set depiction of of aeroplanes from the Wright Brothers first flight through the Supersonic Concorde, and includes iconic planes such as the Spitfire, Lancaster, Concorde and many more. This set was first produced in 1978 and was a strictly limited edition set.

It is very unusual to still find these ingots in their original packaging, making them a rare and collectable lot. The set comes with its original certificate of authenticity dated December 23rd 1978. 16mm by 11mm and over 1mm in thickness. Each incot weighs just over 2 grams, with the entire set weighing over 100 grams of. One side of each ingot is a single picture of the plane with the planes name, the other side is four different views of the plane with silver content marking.

Such a great historical commemorative that would be a fantastic conversation piece - would make a great gift.
