COMPLETE Franklin Mint Centennial Automobile Car Ingot Set Sterling Silver 208OZ

  

This Centennial Car Silver Ingot Collection is an enduring tribute to the 100 greatest cars of the first century of automobiling. The set was issued by the Franklin Mint and contains 100 sterling silver proof quality ingots. Each ingot, measuring 2" by 1.25" by 1.8, is minted in. 925 sterling silver and represents one model of car from each year from 1875 forward.

The ingots are housed in four wooden trays that come in a wooden chest with leather straps. The wooden chest measures 18.25" x 13" by 7.75.

There is a personalized bronze plaque on the top of the chest. Each ingot has 1000 grains which is 64.8 grams or 2.1 troy oz. Total silver weight is 6.48 kilograms or 208.30 Troy ounces.

Filled chest weighs about 50 lb. The chest is in solid condition, but the wood finish has some scuffs and marks on it which can be seen in the pictures. The collection is complete but does not have the accompanying book.
