Franklin Mint Sterling Silver Plate Brandywine Battlefield James Wyeth COA 6.5oz

  
Offered here is a Franklin Mint limited edition collectors plate "Brandywine Battlefield" that belonged to my parents. This is the fifth from a series of five sterling plates with etchings of art by James Wyeth. The plate is signed by the artist and dated 1976. It is numbered 2569 on the back of the plate and marked as solid Sterling Silver. On the Cover of of the Certificate. Solid sterling silver collector's plate. Serially numbered and individually etched by The Franklin Mint. "The certifies that the solid sterling silver plate originally accompanying this Certificate, and identified by the same serial number, was produced by the Franklin Mint and bears an etching of the original work entitled "Brandywine Battlefield, created by James Wyeth expressly for this limited edition. A letter which accompanied this 1976 plate states that the medallion on the back of the plate is sterling silver as well (see photos). Size: Measures 8 in diameter. Weight of Plate: 6.5 oz (184 grams). Certificate: Comes with the original certificate of Authenticity, which is numbered to match the number on the back of the plate. The certificate is in good condition.

The cover of the green folio has a little dirt in the bottom left corner. Serial Number 2569, Mar 10, 1976. The original box is NOT included. I remember using the empty box, which looked like a leather-bound book, as a hidden-compartment book/box on my bookshelf.

I'm not sure where it is now. Condition: The plate is in very good condition except for minor areas of wear on the front rim where the plate touched the glass in its frame and the protective lacquer (to keep it from tarnishing) has worn off a bit (see photos).
