1985 Sterling 24K Gold Vermeil Year of Love Gemstone Hearts Necklace COA Jewelry This is a gorgeous Franklin Mint necklace from 1985 called "The Year Of Love". Comes in original velvet presentation box and has original certificate of authenticity (COA). Box has storage wear as seen in pictures. It is all sterling silver (chain and hearts) with a 24K gold finish over the sterling (making it something they call "vermeil").

There are 12 solid heart charms with a textured design on the front and an open back design to enhance the light that passes through the stones along the 16 chain, each heart represents each month of the year and adorned with the gemstone for that month: January - Garnet February - Amethyst March - Aquamarine April - Diamond May - Emerald June - Pearl July - Ruby August- Peridot September- Sapphire October - Opal November - Citrine December - Blue Topaz Charms can removed from the chain by sliding them off the non-clasp side of the necklace. Hearts can be worn all at once or single, or mix and match to represent family birthdays or couple birthdays etc. Each heart is marked FM 85 Sterling 925. Chain is also marked sterling on the chain tag near the clasp.

Clasp is a spring ring clasp and it works perfectly and holds securely. Due to age and storage it will have some patina/tarnishing in some areas of the piece as seen in photos. Due to vermeil finish it is best to have this professionally cleaned of the tarnish unless you have experience cleaning vermeil.
