Franklin Mint Roberts Birds Medals, 5 medals total. This is a collection of 5 medals designed by Gilroy Roberts back in the 70's for the Franklin Mint. Each medal portrays 2 or more birds of a species as they are seen in nature. A total of 50 medals were created for this series. Each medal is struck in a proof finish and contains 1,000 grains (2.083 ounces) of sterling silver.
All medals come with a descriptive booklet and display stand and each medal comes sealed in a poly bag. The medals are in proof condition with mirror-like fields and frosted highlights.
The medals exhibit some toning at the rim (see photo). The total metal weight of this set is 10.42 ounces of Sterling Silver. Each medal was housed in a Styrofoam box that slipped into a cardboard sleeve. This set consists of five Styrofoam cases enclosed in a cardboard sleeve.
Rather than removing all the medals from their containers for a group picture, I took pictures of one to represent all five medals. This collection contains the following medals.
