FRANKLIN MINT Signature FOUNTAIN PEN Commemorative sterling silver 18K GOLD NIB
The fountain pen comes new in a Franklin Mint box, with the original feeder and nib. The nib of the Signature Pen is 18k gold. It is designed to conform over time to the users writing style, to produce the smoothest and most comfortable writing experience. Even for a collector of fine fountain pens, this is likely to become the favorite pen. Comes with the original provenance card detailing the history of Watermans Signature Pen. The Ideal Pen was first designed and crafted by Lewis Edson Waterman in 1888, after an incident in which a leaky pen cause him to lose an important contract. The Signature Pen is a joint effort between Waterman and the Franklin Mint. It has a solid sterling silver barrel and an 18K gold nib that conforms to the users writing style.
Franklin Mint added a detailed replica of their most beautiful coin, the Double Eagle designed by Augustus St. Gaudens at the commission of President Theodore Roosevelt.
It is style in the high-relief style of Ancient Greek coins and bore the depiction of Liberty striding forward on one side and an eagle on the other, minted until 1933. I have a variety of antiques and collectibles. Right now I have a very nice Late Victorian inkwell / pen stand and several other Waterman pens.
