From the Franklin Mint, comes this Special Commemorative First Edition Proof Set. The Franklin Mint was commissioned by private companies and organizations to create numerous special purpose, limited edition medals.

Some of these designs were selected each year to be issued as this set of Special Commemorative Issues, with the permission of the original organizations, and were then issued in a Proof set for Franklin Mint Collectors. These medals often represent major historical occasions or anniversaries and are very attractive designs.

Issued for 1975, this item is comprised of 36 minted 39mm sterling silver coins each weighing. Total: 23.4 Troy Ounces. Also included is the binder and separator sheets, and even rarer, this set includes a mint condition copy of the booklet which provides the historic information upon which each proof is based. This set belonged to my grandfather who acquired it new from Franklin Mint. It is in outstanding condition and that includes the coins, the binder, separator pages, and information booklet.
