Sterling silver over resin, after works by Anthony Jones, 1978-79; "The Elephant, " "The Leopard, " The Black Rhinoceros, " "The Cape Buffalo, " and "The Lion, each 7 in. Each mounted on mahogany plaque, 11 in. This is a set of 5 pictures made of sterling silver and mounted on wood plaques.

The series is called "The Lords of the Serengeti" by Anthony Jones. These were made for the Franklin Mint. The certificate on the back reads This is to certify that this Sterling Silver Wall Sculpture is one of a collection of five issued in limited editions by the Tanzania National Parks to mark the occasion of the fiftieth anniversary of the Serengeti Game Reserve. It is further certified that the Sculpture, mounted on fine Philippine Mahogany, was produced in sterling silver by the Franklin Mint from an original work of art by the world-famous wildlife artist Anthony Jones.

The silver picture measures 7 inches square and the Mahogany plaques measure 11 inches square. For Silver collectors; the silver is marked sterling and hallmarked. Frames were never hung on wall or displayed, but were stacked in plastic bags on top of each other.

As a result there are a few scratches and dings on the top center of a few caused by the picture hangars. This doesnt affect the overall appearance much and these are great works of art in sterling silver. I tried to show a close up of the scratches. These are seldom seen and a must have for the animal lover, sterling collector, or lover of fine arts.
