Vtg Franklin Mint Teddy Roosevelt Silver Knife Embellished Sterling Silver 1988

  

Would make a great gift for a special occasion. The knife was made in 1988. This reproduction one was crafted after, was made by Tiffany & Co, one of the worlds finest silversmiths. The hilt of the knife has a full figure likeness of Theodore Roosevelt. The other side of the hilt has his name flowing stylized script.

The blade has images of grizzly bears on one side and deer on the other. The blade of the knife is made of fine tempered steel. The entire knife is finished in sterlibng silver electroplate. There is a silver colored plate that is affixed in the case below the knife that provides the name of the piece and notes that made by Franklin Mint. The case is made of some sort of hardwood and has a dark red brown stain to it. The glass on the front of the case is intact. The case's top is securely attached to the base by the hinges. The inside of the case is lined with a hardened red velveteen material, preformed to look like a flowing fabric.

The case still has the locking key with it. On the back of the case are slide notched, so that the piece can also be hung on a wall. The Franklin mint Teddy Roosevelt Silver Knife stands 13-5/8" long, by 3.5" wide, by 2 tall. The blade is blunted, was never sharpened.

The case is 20-1/8" across, by 10-5/8" wide, by 3-5/8 tall. The original packing case and material the piece came in are no longer with the item.
